Birthday, Snow, Soaps and Asthma; Catastrophe--Almost

It's snowing again after raining most of the day.
It's been a different kind of week. I struggled against asthma all week and at times it seems to be letting up.
Amazing it might be to some of you, but when I went outside a few minutes to see these big, beautiful snowflakes, it cheered me.

Last night I was working on some soaps and the sodium hydroxide which is very caustic, did a weird thing.
It started bubbling, and overflowing in the pan. Geez, I have never had that happen before.
I normally have my times when the soap doesn't trace right and I spend more time stirring than I prefer, so this was kind of bizarre. I ended up cleaning up a big mess and throwing away the pans I was working with.
The fumes were intense so actually had to leave the workroom area for sometime before I could even clean up.

I am back to normal today and worked on making some new soaps.
I hope this week to get pictures of more soaps and get them on the sites.
Asthma slowing me down some still but pressing on.
Kids will be back tomorrow and back to schooling as well.
Leyden turned 7 years old yesterday and hope I have a few good pictures to share of his birthday.

I hope you had a great weekend and maybe found some time to get a bit of rest and relaxation.
I actually slept in this morning and that is good for me.
I normally wake up early whether I want to or not.
I wish someone had a camera and took pictures for me. I had woke up during the night to find my dog laying on the pillow next to me and the cat not far away either.
I think it would have made a hillarious picture. Of course I wouldn't have minded being excluded. lol

It Snowed Again

Ok, I am done complaining now, it's snowed and still at it last time I checked.
I know the kids are going to like it and beg to go sledding. lol
I know shoveling and plowing is a pain as well as driving in it can be. Yet, I find it a gift of God and I enjoy it.
Well, whether it's snowing there or not, enjoy your day.

Well, it Snowed

Well,it snowed and now is almost melted but not until after some bitter cold days. Wouldn't you know it then my automobile decides to have the heat not work consistently. Brrrr, was so cold!
We survived and am thankful to see a bit more snow when I gave up hope of any. Although, I have been concerned about the lack of snow this year in regard to the moisture we may need when growing season starts.
Kids learned a bit about Martin Luther King today and watched a video.
Mostly taking the day off from formal studies and catching my breath.

Good Evening Pondering

I have been a tad absent but not too far away.
I haven't done a lot with the site for awhile after beginning but am not ready to jump in with both feet even if a bit sporadic at times in the midst of soap making and homeschooling.

We have been busy working no some new soaps and products that will be displaying here soon.

I have been a bit under the weather today with asthma & some back pain issues as well but no worries, I am on the mend.
We raise robo hamsters. Originally, the kids wanted them for pets.Contrary to what some say, it is not difficult to breed them. We discovered this by accident when within a few weeks of purchasing our two robo hamsters, we had five new babies. lol
They have continued to produce and we have lost a few as well as learned a lot about how they can do one another in as well if too many males to females.
I find often, the smaller the animal, the more nervous, flighty and high strung; therefore the less social and cuddly.
After finding two dead ones today (which usually seems to happen with too many males to females) I removed the offending male and thought, oh good, I can use this aquarium for the red slider turtle that is separated from his bigger counterpart due to agression. NOT!!
The aquarium was a freebie that came with the hamsters and how did I know it leaked. Duh on me for not checking first.
I put a fair amount of water in it, the pump and filter and thought, Yeah, look what I did.
I go downstairs and grab my laptop to lay down with the tens unit on my back and in 5 minutes discover my arm feels like it's being sprinkled with water. I thought, shoot I must have the tens unit up too high. I realized it really was water dripping through the floor next to my bed. So, it's been an interesting evening, cleaning up water, putting the turtle back in the larger aquarium but separated and now here I am laying down and finally not moving much. lol

It's nice to just rest and think for a few.
I found myself quite a grouch today and I am slow at times to realize I am having an asthma attack and why my backs hurt in relation to it.

The kids were grouchy as well but thankfully we made it through their schoolwork and spent several hours playing hide and go seek or tag. Gee, they sure can hide so good and takes me forever to find them.
I did have to ask forgiveness and realized my grouchiness probably didn't help theirs.

The weather was beautiful for January 5 when we should be knee deep in snow and keeping plenty of wood in the stove. I really do miss the snow but think I am accepting we might not get any.

Earlier, before I found myself being sprinkled with water (and not holy water either), I had began reviewing Israel history-truth and fact vs. myth and lies from http://www.jewishvirtuallibrary.org/jsource/myths3/cover.html

I tend to get so weary and aggravated at people's unwillingness to look at history and investigate things for themselves in regard to the truth of a palestine state and Israel's right from God and contracts created to be where she is and thrive. Most want to go by what feels good and someone else's word for things. Even if some of those words are by those who see us as infidels in the U.S. as well as Israelis and therefore bent on our demise too.

The coming months and years remain to be seen as far as what will happen. I am fearful for the state of things and see terror is coming home to the U.S. and a great deal of the reason being we refuse to acknowledge truth and wake up from the slumber.

So, enough of my pondering out loud for now and until next time.....

Christmas is over and done for many of us. No snow so made for an unusual christmas-brown, ugly but warm. Hmmm...where did winter go?

The kids enjoyed themselves I believe and I am kind of wore out from making gifts.

Soon back to our schoolwork and putting things back in order.

We have much more to add to the blog for sale as soon as able. I will be soon adding separate pages for products in the days to come and hope that helps you to navigate and view what is available as well.

Welcome to Country Whisperings.

There isn't nearly enough snow to make me happy yet but I am hopeful for more before Christmas.

I have been keeping busy with homeschooling the kids and we have been busy creating candles and potpouri melts of various scents and shapes. The kids are wanting to earn money to help in buying Christmas gifts.
I will post their creations here a bit slowly for now.
For starters I am putting together grab bags of various scents and shapes. You will receive 6 in your grab bag that you can use for a gift or perhaps you'd just like to make your home smell festive for the holidays.
